One of the local dispensaries in the area that I go to, actually the most frequent one I visit is Nirvana. Their prices are better than the others in the area that I’ve seen. The quality has been higher than average. Like most dispensaries, there is a lobby area where they check your ID and sign you in. We arrived in the parking lot in the nick of time. They lock the outside doors at 8:45 P.M. and I made it inside past the lobby at 8:44 P.M.
The only problem was my phone was dead. I had my backpack that has my surface in it and got a USB-A to USB-C adapter and a charging cable and opened my surface on the counter to the side and plugged my phone in. I’ve had to use my surface in the store before to manage my money. I keep my cards locked at all times until I go to spend. Every time. I explained to the guy at the counter what I was doing, and he told me I just have to be out of here by 9:00 P.M. and left me alone for a few minutes. After a few minutes, my phone had not turned on yet. He told me I can’t have my surface out turned on charging my phone, I have to leave. I had a pre-order. All I needed was my device on to manage my money. The guy had no consideration at all for what I was going through and had no idea if I was a medical or recreational patient.
I packed up my surface and told him he was losing a sale, indicated I would be back, then left. At 8:54 P.M. in the car on the way home my phone turned on, and I immediately called the store and left a voicemail. If I was still inside the store, my card would have been unlocked, and I would have been out the door by 8:56 P.M.
It was an employee at the counter who made me leave the store. They didn’t ask security to come ask me what was going on. He just lied to me and told me that I wasn’t allowed to have a device on inside the store. Like people don’t pay with their phones and tablets? On the way in, I told security that I needed to charge my phone. He told me they don’t have any charging, I indicated it wouldn’t be a problem I had charging with me. I still got buzzed back.
Every single time I’ve placed a pre-order at this dispensary it has been picked up. I do not place a pre-order without having the money to pay.
Before I left, I asked the employee who was making me leave his name. I couldn’t see any nametag and no name was given to me. He told me he doesn’t have to tell me his name. He was disrespectful and seemed to only care about there being somebody inside 15 minutes before close like I was the one being disrespectful.
It is now 08:20 A.M. two days later and I haven’t received a call back from the voicemail I left.
If you are a medical patient, I highly recommend going to ANY other dispensary.
FRX Elyria Craft Cannabis Dispensary is nearby and tucked back on 709 Sugar ln in Elyria on the other side of 57 from McDonalds and Speedway. Website
Klutch Cannabis is a little further away and is another one tucked away at 5152 Grove Ave in Lorain, go past Grove Ave when you turn in from 57 and the parking lot is on the left on Mayfield St. They have a decent rewards system, but I was told by an employee today it cannot be used on flower until they get permission again from the state. There are more and more popping up everywhere, but these are the only other two that I’ve been to in the area. I’ve had nothing but good experiences at them both. The prices at FRX are better than Klutch.
