Criminal Business

Posted on July 24, 2025 by cbain

While working at Beckett Thermal Solutions in the front office one day I decided I would leave for lunch. Something I rarely did while working at the Ridgeville facility. Normally I would eat my lunch at my desk while continuing to work.

I got in my car and took a right off of Beckett Pkwy. There was a decent amount of traffic, a lot of people taking their lunch outside the building today. While waiting to get to the stop sign to turn right onto Sugar Ridge Rd, I happened to see a couple in the car right in front of me lean in towards the middle to kiss.

It wasn’t a couple I was supposed to see kiss. I know that for sure. It was our new head of HR and at the time our plant manager. Both married employees as far as I knew, and not to each other. They weren’t exactly exuding the company values, but then again, they weren’t at the company.

This is the lady who sat me down and made me feel like me going to the doctor every 2 weeks or me needing extra vacation time from the next year one time was me taking advantage of the company. Kissing her subordinate during lunch break. The lady who did market research to arrive at my pay rate of $55,000 for the position that was created for me. The same lady who sat down at a lunch table with me and Michael and made us feel like we weren’t actually a part of the company.

Of course, I never said anything at the time. It’s not my place. It’s funny though, not long after I saw it, she was let go from the company.

I’m proud to say that after 7 years of being in a relationship I haven’t cheated on my partner. Not this or any previous partner. I like to actually live the values I preach.
