At 10:50a.m. I called the North Olmsted police department to report threatening voicemails being left by my father. Initially, a female office responded, parked in the driveway, I met halfway to the house. We introduced ourselves and I stated what I was reporting. The officer who responded was Danielle Shook.
With my phone in my hand, I played the voicemails for her one by one. When I was finished playing them, she looked at me as if she had never taken a report in her life. The gist I got from the conversation was, she just didn’t have to help me because police aren’t accountable for anything. She made me explain concepts such as ‘looking up public records’, ‘looking up public records from one county over’ and similar topics.
A male officer showed up and started mansplaining without knowing what was going on, as confident as I’ve ever seen anyone do it before. He explained concepts the female officer was trying to articulate fluently. But the gist I got from him was the same. He opened his mouth and spoke without hearing all of the voicemails I played for the female officer.
Before the officers left, I called the Lorain County Sheriff’s office and explained to them that the officers in front of me say there’s nothing they can do. I had called them last night and reported the voicemails to somebody on dispatch and they told me to report it to the North Olmsted police so they can send a sheriff and make contact. Today, I get the feeling nothing is going to be done.
I again stated my fear about a large sum of money missing and blackmail. I was told again I would have to convince the person being blackmailed to report it himself.
Here is a sample of one of the voicemails I received.
Here is just a clip of part of the audio of the interaction. I would like the entire incident with visual, and audio released.
