When I talked to Mike about moving into his house because my parents were acting so horrifically that I couldn’t be around them, I told him that we wanted the basement. He insisted that he wanted to be down there, because that’s where he was when his parents were still alive in the house.
There was a point where Mike was talking about selling his house and moving into my parents’ house with us before they came back from South Carolina.
That didn’t end up happening, and we (my partner and I) are currently living at his house. The main benefit for us was that his house is a halfway point between my partners work and school. It’s only 15 minutes either way. At the house we were living at before, it was a 20- and 30-minute drive respectively.
