While I was working on the Sequence Tester for Beckett Thermal Solutions, I started pulling data from the QAD MSSQL mirror that sync’d daily. After a few weeks when things were working smoothly, I was called out to the shop floor to diagnose an issue- no parts were showing up in the dropdown. When I opened up the database explorer and went to the ps_mstr table I noticed that the table was completely empty.
I had to go through stored procedures manually and pull out a bit that would repopulate the table. I found the right snippet and had it setup so I could trigger it anytime I needed. This started happening so often that I reached out to the head of IT. I was told by him that he has no idea how that could happen. I expected him to do an investigation to see what exactly was causing the data to disappear. Instead, this issue plagued me until I was terminated.
