My latest experience in dealing with Kia. After the incident on Aug 19th, I called to speak to the service department and spoke to a lady on the phone. I told her that I think the plastic underside to my vehicle has been stolen and water is getting into the passenger footwell. I asked to be seen as soon as possible hoping they could at least get it in that day. I wasn’t sure if water was coming in while it was just sitting there. She told me Monday the 25th would be the soonest she could get it seen at 9:30AM.
It rained multiple times again while the car sat there in the driveway. Mike and I started sharing his vehicle again. When Monday came around, I drove the car up to the dealership with Mike following me in his vehicle. It poured rain. Water started coming in again as I turned corners. We dropped the car off and Mike drove us back home to wait. I expected the car to be gone most of the day, if not for multiple days.
The dealership texted to let us know the vehicle was ready for pickup a little over 2 hours later. Mike and I rode back up to get my car and paid roughly $200 for an oil change and to take care of the water issue.
After paying, I went outside to inspect the vehicle. I took a video that I will add to this post later. It looks very similar to the video I posted in the “Harassment” post.
Questioning how it could possibly be fixed, I went inside to confront the technician. The lady at the front desk refused to grab the technician saying she could explain it all herself. I showed her the video of water coming into the vehicle from my blog and asked how this was resolved so that it will not happen again.
She told me that the A/C drain tube was clogged. She explained that it’s a common failure and a complicated procedure for the technician. It’s a drain tube that drains excess water from the windshield wiper area to the bottom of the car. She ensured that once the technician blew air through it and cleared it out, water should no longer pour into the passenger compartment near the floor when I hit puddles.
I drove the vehicle home and there was no more rain. Most of the big puddles had dried up but I managed to hit 2 right before getting home. I heard the water sloshing sound inside the vehicle and saw a few drops of water come down on the passenger floormat. My heart sank. I tried to repeat this, but the puddles weren’t big enough. I can’t say for certain that it’s fixed, but what I can say for certain is that my car is missing a piece of plastic on the underside still.
I guess it will have to wait until the next time it pours rain.

I just called Kia and let them know what happened to my vehicle. The soonest they can get the car in to look at it is 8/25/25 Monday morning at 9:30. It’s going to rain tomorrow morning, but it looks like it will be just cloudy afterwards until Monday.
