Let me preface this post with a little bit of information since the rest of this post was written shortly after Criminal Day. I have been honestly trying to communicate with the police department like any honest human being would for months. Not one time have they presented in front of me as anything resembling a human, but instead a stupid ugly monster. It’s not easy to say, but I said it. Willfully ignorant. You may not like the words I’m using but this is my experience to define. Don’t read it if you don’t care.
After my last post, I had a nice visit from the thugs at the North Olmsted police department. There must have been at least 4 vehicles and 6 officers to speak to me face-to-face.
They were caught red-handed walking around the backyard like fools by Mike who just happened to be by the door. I think they wanted to “clear the backyard” before knocking on the door.
Mike informs me they are here and goes out to see if he can direct them away from the property, and possibly towards the street (he didn’t say this, I just knew it). They demanded to speak to “Mr. Bain”
I’m sorry but when I walk outside my house and you already have your hand on a gun while speaking to me, you are a thug. It was TV-raid style. Officers were horizontal right next to the door, officers standing right in front of the doorway and officers standing off to the side.
The first officer who spoke to me was a complete and utter trash human being. After a few minutes of talking to me, getting nowhere, he DEMANDED to speak to Mike to the side privately out of view. Multiple officers insinuated this needed to be done inside the house. I asked Mike what he would prefer, and he said it didn’t matter to him. Since it didn’t matter to him, I made the decision that this was all going to be done outside. Rights matter kids, and the inside of the house was not important. Never let an officer inside your home, there is never a good reason for it. They will only be looking for clues for drugs, weapons or anything that could possibly be cited instead of actually interacting with you. They only wanted to speak about the last e-mail (which was the contents of Criminal Day) and none of the previous ones before it.
While I was separated from Mike, other officers crowded around me to let me know I had no escape (not that I was planning to). I kept getting asked questions like, “Have you ever been diagnosed with a mental health condition?”, “Have you had thoughts of hurting yourself or others?”, etc. Because I was being intimidated and felt like my papers were being checked, I came clean with all of it. Because my medical conditions are well-defined, they were not able to strap me down right then and there.
The front line of “mental health” they say. I felt like buzz lightyear was holding me by my shoulder and showing me my backyard.
They were only here to check on my mental health because of a “concerning e-mail” sent to the captain. I told them with a straight face, I’ve never sent an e-mail to your captain, in fact, I’ve never received an e-mail from the police station itself, only the records department. It was never made clear, but I believe the e-mail they were discussing was Criminal Day.
Science kids- isn’t important anymore. I know the teachers said at one point it was the most important subject right next to social studies and math, but if the police department themselves aren’t willing to use it I believe it is now time to throw it out. It’s apparently time for conspiracy theories and terrorism to reign free, we lost our war. (for the fools out there, this is sarcasm) (calling reasonable things to investigate mental health is terrorism in my opinion)
Of course, they didn’t show me the concerning e-mail they had come to speak to me about. They just discussed “it”. I’m really glad they were all wearing body cameras.
I was told Fairview Hospital (which is part of Cleveland Clinic) will actually solve all the criminal problems in my life if I just come there and get strapped down first. They even offer first-class rides via the fire department, saving you time and money.
I think the hiring for police officers needs to change immediately. An officer shown something that cannot figure out sarcasm within 3 tries is just dead weight for the department. I think they made an embarrassment of themselves and the city. The anti-science police department needs a reality check.
I will continue to post and write things that undo this kind of damage in people’s minds. You can call it terrorism all you want; I don’t see any scared people by time I’m done talking to them.
During the interaction, a helicopter flew low directly over the house. Wonder what that was about.
The next time I hear a person nicely tell me they think what is going on here is mental health, I think I am going to give them a piece of my mind, verbally. But I implore you to think. If I was going to attack you, body language would give you more of a telegraph than my voice would. Stop thinking that people raising their voices could possibly lead to them laying hands on you. The thought experiments do a lot to prove that this isn’t mental health, it is criminals. Unfortunately, they are not for slow people.
I have a feeling the North Olmsted police will take this entire post out of context, try to assign some criminal behavior or blame to my words and maybe even attempt to pick me up, again, for what would be a third time. They may want to try to wipe away the image they have created of themselves through me by knocking me down. They should want to wipe it away by doing good police work. Let’s see what they do. I think more police intimidation is in order at my own residence. 3 strikes now, for me the North Olmsted police department is out.
You may ask, why do I talk about the police like this? Aren’t I scared they might disappear me or something? And my answer is because they demand it, and absolutely not. If they do it, it will be clear and obvious why. What I and most of the public want are answers that make sense, and for the police to look like (at least) they are doing their jobs. Instead, they bumble around the city walking liabilities. Every officer not trained in Crisis Intervention is a walking lawsuit for the department. This isn’t about suing and getting a bunch of money or creating consequences for individual officers, it’s about bettering the entire police department as a whole and facilitating cross-department cooperation.
I sent a short letter to Jennifer Scofield about the safety in the city regarding the police department and was ignored. What are we paying these public officials for? We desperately need a new director of public safety, one who wants to make Giant Eagle a safe place to shop. I refuse to go there.
When corruption runs rampant and public officials ignore pleas from citizens for something to be done, it’s time for change. I highly encourage everyone to convince everybody they know to vote after doing thorough research, like the country depends on it. Sometimes people get into positions with good ideas, and think any deviation from the vote-in plan would lead to ruin and let things go. They then try to blame other things for the decline instead of themselves for ignoring common-sense advice when things change and new information is discovered.
CVS Pharmacy on Lorain Rd in North Olmsted gave me recalled medication from a bottle with a red circle and cross through it. I have pictures and written documentation. Officer Ashenfelter told me this was a civil issue, not a criminal issue. I went through withdrawal because the medication was not the strength described. I submitted a MedWatch report and was instructed to return the pills to CVS. They took the pills, offered no refund and acted like they had no idea what to do. All this after somebody stole medication out of my bottle. Thankfully, I was able to get another prescription after going to the emergency room, multiple times. I did contact multiple lawyers and was told I don’t have a case.
I feel like saying everything is mental health is a slippery slope that we’ve already started our slide down. I fear another holocaust of our friends and family. Science and compassion need to be at the forefront of our minds.
I want North Olmsted to feel just as safe as some of the other cities I’ve lived in and been to. We have a long, long way to go.
I want to make clear, I offered many times to work directly with the North Olmsted police department. I offered to share information with them. Now I’m being threatened with a search warrant as I finish this post today.
