Sleep deprivation

Posted on July 3, 2025 by cbain

I was just about to drift off into unconsciousness when I heard the cat crying at the door. She sounded like something was chasing her that was going to kill her. She bolted in the room as soon as the door opened and hid under the bed. I closed the door and locked it.

As I’m laying down, she starts yowling under the bed like she was dying. She jumps up on the bed and I scruff her, calming her down. She started the faintest bit of purring. As soon as I let go, she jumped back down and ran under the bed.

Once she started yowling again, I opened the bedroom door and went to the other side of the bed to scare her out. Since then, she has been completely quiet.

This happens often but seems to come and go depending on how mad the “mental health voices” get. The person harassing my cat likes to push her to do things like this at specific times as a punishment to us.
